Study clusters

Practical confidence programs for student engagement across regions

Study clusters bring together education providers, councils, agents and community partners to support students across a region.

Many students arrive capable and motivated, but experience:

  • low confidence during transition and settlement

  • uncertainty about where to go for help

  • fear of asking questions or getting things wrong

  • quiet disengagement that is easy to miss

When confidence drops, students often disengage early or remain invisible until issues escalate.

Where confidence fits

Study clusters coordinate many services and initiatives, yet confidence is rarely addressed directly.

Student Confidence delivers practical confidence programs, workshops and events that help students:

  • feel more confident engaging with education and community life

  • participate earlier and more consistently

  • make better choices for themselves about study, work and life

  • access support and opportunity without stigma

Programs are preventative, non-clinical and suitable for diverse domestic and international cohorts.

Designed for study cluster environments

Student Confidence works well within study clusters because it:

  • can be delivered across multiple providers and locations

  • creates a shared experience for students across the region

  • complements settlement, engagement and employability initiatives

  • reduces reliance on late or crisis support

  • is affordable and scalable

Programs can be delivered centrally or across partner organisations, depending on the cluster model.

Confidence Crew Program – is specifically designed to support shyer students to build self confidence, engagement and empowerment. Unusually for this type of program, attendance generally increases over time.
